A new law in Colorado meant to help job seekers understand the salary ranges of the job opening might be hurting job seekers

Why Are Coloradan Job Seekers Being Excluded?

On January 1st 2021, The Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. This bill’s intended purpose is to combat gender-based pay gaps in the workplace. Part of the way this would work would be requiring companies to provide job seekers with data on who is making what for their role.

This means that each job posting, including remote ones, must disclose the expected salary or pay range. Due to these additional requirements, many companies hiring nationwide are now excluding those in Colorado.
